21 Feb First Annual Elevate MMA Academy Awards Categories
As we close in on the end of the first year of Elevate MMA’s existence I wanted to create awards that further nurtured the culture that has developed, and rewarded those that most embodied the qualities that the Academy seeks to instill.
Elevate MMA Academy has 4 Guidelines for promotion and each of these serve as a basis for an individual award. So here are the categories we will be awarding for the first year of the Academy:
Carry the Flag Award: Our champion, the one who carries the flag into battle. The person who represents the tribe by consistently demonstrating the technical proficiency, mental toughness, and will to prepare necessary to take on and defeat any and all challenges. Our daily training environment is a laboratory of experimentation of best practices, and this person is our proof of concept.
Virtuosity Award: The tribe member who did the most to improve their technical knowledge in both depth and breadth. This person is lighting the path for other members of how to seek out and incorporate new techniques into their repertoire, and consistently seeks deeper mastery of their current arsenal.
The “150” Award: The person sets the standard in all their behaviors. Simply put if we had 150 members of the tribe that emulated this person we would have the best academy possible.
Limitless Award: This person utilized martial arts as a tool. The training served the purpose of pushing their boundaries and allowing them to grow both on and off the mats. The time invested on the mats brought great returns in the rest of the world, and as a result they are a great representative to those outside the Academy.
Adult and Kids Student of the Year: This person represents all the qualities we value as a tribe. They have represented each category through their training.
