12 May Elevate MMA Purple Belt Test
Students of Elevate MMA Academy testing for purple belt will be responsible for knowledge and proficiency of all material on the blue belt test. Student should be present with attire for Gi/No-Gi as well as Big Gloves/Little Gloves and Shin Guards.
Additionally Purple Belts must show continued progress in all Guidelines of Promotion.
Students testing should be prepared to discuss and demonstrate their own personal style as is relates to:
- Takedowns in the Gi
- Takedowns in No-Gi
- Takedowns when leading with strikes
- Takedowns in response to punches
- Takedowns in response to kicks
- Takedowns and Takedown defense off the wall
- Initiating the Clinch
- Strategy for Striking in the Open Engagement
- Strategy for Striking in the Closed Engagement
- Strategy for dealing with an aggressive opponent
- Strategy for dealing with a counter puncher
- Favorite Guard Gi, No-Gi, and MMA and strategy
- Countering a guard pull
- Strategies for dealing with an opponent with a world class skill set in either (striking, wrestling, or BJJ)
