If 1% of Triangle residents trained that would be 20,000 people. Incredible to think about that number and what it would mean for the growth of Academies in the area. Assuming the average school had 200 students (which is a large #), then our area could support 100 legit schools.
We as martial artists want to continue to see our community grow and need to do a better job reaching out and attracting individuals into this sphere. The scene in the triangle is exploding and there are countless incredible gyms to train at. Some offer great proximity and all offer slightly different takes and perspectives on the martial arts we love. Whether someone is looking for self defense, fitness, increased confidence, or wants to compete you can find great coaches, facilities, and training partners to support that need.
Training can be an incredible tool driving change in an individual’s life. More importantly it creates a community network that can be mobilized to improve the world both locally and globally. If the current community all pulled in the same direction of increasing the overall footprint of martial arts in the community then soon that 1% number may be in reach.
